The seeds of this plant are used to produce primrose oil, which is used in the making of both medicines and cosmetics. The primrose plant also has many active ingredients that make it an effective in home acne remedies.

Two of these natural ingredients, Linolenic acid and Gamma Linolenic acid, are both used as natural acne treatments for reducing the inflammation and pain caused by pimples. These acids are also used to dilute the sebum, which is the oil on your skin secreted by the sebaceous glands. They can be helpful for naturally curing other health problems such as arthritis and inflammation of the joints and ligaments as well.

Evening Primrose can be used as a natural acne cure in several ways. It can be used in the form of oil which can be topically applied on the affected area or be taken orally as a supplement. It is recommended that you use both the forms to get maximum benefit from this acne natural remedy.

Directions to use Evening Primrose:

While using Evening Primrose oil topically as an acne natural treatment, first cleanse your face well. After that, gently rub the oil into the affected areas. Leave this on overnight and remember to cleanse it thoroughly after you wake up in the morning.

Tips for selecting the Evening Primrose brand:

While purchasing evening primrose oil, look for the brands which claim that the oil has been manufactured from the organically grown plants. This is because the organically grown plants are free from the pesticides or other dangerous chemicals, and thus they have superior medicinal properties. You can easily tell a good quality oil by its color. The oils produced from organically grown plants are usually brown in color; while the non-organic ones are yellow.
